Our Favorite 6 Walkable Must-Do’s on Miracle Mile
Once the meeting ends, let the exploring begin
One of the top perks of getting the group together at Hotel Colonnade? Being steps away from 100+ restaurants, shops, boutiques, and art galleries along the lush Miracle Mile.
Trade in those work heels and briefcases for a sun-kissed stroll among breezy palm trees and Mediterranean architecture. Here are our top 6 walkable go-tos for all your attendees:
1. Giralda Plaza
A vivacious and bustling hotspot. Killer people watching. Stunning art installations overhead. Looks like you stumbled upon Giralda Plaza, Coral Gables’s popular pedestrian plaza lined with restaurants, boutiques, and al fresco cafes. The social scene is vibrant morning to night, with live music performances, outdoor movies, and endless strolling and revelry. Best of all: It’s just a gorgeous 2-minute walk away from Hotel Colonnade.
2. Coral Gables Museum
A bonafide architectural gem, the historic Coral Gables Museum sits at the literal heart of Coral Gables. It was once the city’s 1920’s courthouse (you can still visit the old courtroom and jail cells), as well as the old police and fire station. Today, it’s filled to the brim with unique art and history exhibits and offers guided biking and walking tours. In town on the first Friday of the month? You’re in luck. Join the locals for their monthly Gallery Nights at the Museum.
3. Coral Gables Art Cinema
Have any film buffs in your group? Point them to this loved-by-locals art house theatre, one of the best in South Florida. They forgo the conventional Blockbusters and instead screen classic movies, independent and international films, and film festivals. Sip on local beers and wines and chomp on vintage candy while you watch.
4. Books & Books
The celebrated bookshop that revived bookstore culture in Coral Gables and Miami in the early 80s, Books & Books is just the place for your guests to get lost in. Mingle with authors, poets, and passionate book-loving locals. Explore walls stacked high with books ranging from art to architecture to science fiction. Or, simply spend a sunny afternoon sipping a local brew in their open-air courtyard cafe.
5. Galiano Cigar Room
Consider this your sign to slow down after a slew of back-to-back meetings. At this beloved cigar and whiskey lounge, patrons linger for hours enjoying the pleasure of a good smoke and drink. Whatever your palette is craving, you’ll find it here. This climate-controlled humidor is filled with top cigar brands, including Oliva, Padrón, Arturo Fuente, and Montecristo.
6. Well Groomed Gentleman
High performers know a thing or two about looking polished at every conference and business meeting. But sometimes, there’s zero time to run to the barbershop. Luckily, your attendees are just a 3-minute walk to hot shaves, haircuts, and massages at this all-in-one men’s barbershop and spa lounge. Sip a complimentary Cuban cafecito while you wait.
